This year’s theme “Integrated Care Across the Lifespan: Strengthening Multidisciplinary Practice.” reflects a shared recognition that healthcare must be continuous, coordinated, and responsive to the evolving needs of individuals from early life through older age. In the unique geographical and social landscape of Nuwara Eliya and the wider hill country, delivering such care demands strong collaboration across specialties, disciplines, and sectors.
This year’s academic sessions & submissions to the journal demonstrate both academic rigor and practical relevance. They highlight the importance of linking preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and supportive services; strengthening primary healthcare systems; integrating mental & physical health and social care; and ensuring that vulnerable populations are not left behind. Importantly, they underscore that multidisciplinary practice is not merely desirable— it is essential for achieving equitable and sustainable health outcomes.
As Editors, we are proud to present these contributions and trust that they will stimulate thoughtful discussion, inspire innovation, and further strengthen integrated care across the lifespan. Through collaboration and shared purpose, we continue to advance compassionate, coordinated healthcare for the communities we serve.
Let this journal stand not only as a record of academic endeavor, but as a renewed pledge to deliver coordinated, equitable care across every stage of life. May the discussions and research presented in this issue inspire innovation, resilience, and collective progress in the service of our communities.
