Dear President, Members of the Hill Country Clinical Society, Honoured Guests, and Esteemed Colleagues,

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I extend my warmest greetings to all of you gathered for this year’s Annual Academic Sessions. This event celebrates the dedication, innovation, and collaboration of our medical professionals, striving for clinical excellence through the adoption of strategies such as continuous professional development, clinical effectiveness and research, clinical audits, and the integration of information technology—strategies often practiced in developed countries—all within the unique and often challenging environment of the hill country.

Therefore these sessions provide an invaluable platform for exchanging ideas, sharing research, and fostering connections. Such interactions are vital for the further advancement of knowledge and skills among our hospital staff, improving clinical practices, and ultimately delivering the highest quality care to our communities.

As a member of this society and the director of the main hospital serving this region, I am constantly reminded of the profound impact our collective efforts have on the lives of those we serve. Let us reaffirm our commitment to excellence, empathy, and collaboration as we move forward in this new era, in parallel with the government’s efforts to build a cleaner, rich and more sustainable Sri Lanka.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the President of the Hill Country Clinical Society, the council members, and all supporters, presenters, and participants whose hard work and dedication have ensured the success of this organization. Your unwavering commitment continues to drive the betterment of healthcare service provided from our hospital.

Wishing you all a fruitful and inspiring Annual Academic Session. May the knowledge and experience shared here guide us to achieve new milestones in clinical excellence.
